St. Mary's Lychgate

Consecrated in 1866, St. Mary's largely took over the role of the over stretched St. Lawrence's Church, which still remains and is situated across the road. The first Rector would have been James Kenrick M.A.

The attractive lychgate at St. Mary's was erected to the memory of a tea planter called John Shepard.
